Baltimore City Approves Proposal for After-School

The Family League of Baltimore City, Inc. has awarded Camp Fire USA Baltimore with a contract to serve students attending Baltimore City’s Patterson Park Public Charter School. We will be providing an exciting and enriching after-school program to students as well as participate in Maryland’s brand new supper program. The goals of our program will include increasing student engagement in learning, boosting school attendance, and decreasing the use of violence to solve peer conflicts. A special thank you to the Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle as well as the Knott Foundation for supplementing the funding to implement this new initiative!

Urban Hike

Join us on Saturday, May 22nd for an outdoor family celebration featuring guided hikes through one of the largest urban woodland parks on the East Coast, to benefit environmentally focused leadership programs for Baltimore youth.

Hikers will refuel on gift packs sponsored by Kashi Food and music provided by Baltimore’s own Unity Reggae Band and
the Steve Pomplon Band.

Absolutely Incredible Kids Day

Absolutely Incredible Kid Day is an annual, national call to action asking adults to write letters of support and encouragement to America's youth. Each year on the third Thursday of March, Camp Fire USA encourages adults to let kids know just how valuable they are. March 18, 2010 marks Camp Fire USA's 14th annual Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.

Today, we are celebrating by recognizing two special youth in our programs, Taye and Marshe. We’d love for you to drop them a note and share words of encouragement and awesomeness! Check out our mailing address below...

Volunteer Needs

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with our after-school program in several locations. Volunteers are a great resource to our programs and help us keep our services hands-on, innovative and engaging. Getting involved in our after-school programs is a great opportunity to connect with a young person in Baltimore who is need of a caring positive adult.
